Matter of Trust’s Eco-Home: An Inspiration to go Eco-friendly

Building an eco-friendly home offers a variety of benefits. Not only is it a good way to help the environment, but it is also a cost-effective option.

Lisa Gautier, founder of Matter of Trust, believes that being eco-friendly is not just a trend but a lifestyle. This is why, together with her husband Patrice Gautier, they built their first eco-home in San Francisco. It serves as a model on how renters can go ecological-friendly.

In an interview with Kristi Carter of GPNN, Lisa  showed us around the eco-home which has the ecological apartment, the Mind, Body and Soil Hub, eco-bathroom and permaculture garden. It also has the Eco-Industrial Hub which she explained will highlight clean air and water as well as some perspectives on how to ecologize factories. She also mentioned that they will have several things in place, like exhibits, to show how homeowners and builders can go green. They also want designers and decorators to see how renters can impact climate.

The next spot explored was the backyard which is going to be converted into the eco-garden. The garden will have a tiny home to be used as a guest house. They are also going to have a dog waste composting station which the renters can also use for their pets. The garden will also be used to grow vegetables.

“We’re going to permaculture the garden with lots of raised beds”, she said.

Then we also checked out the apartment building while Lisa talked about the importance of having tenants who know how to take care of their spaces.

Ultimately, what Lisa desires, is to encourage more people to go green and for everyone to be more concerned about the environment.

The big thing is we want to encourage many people in other kinds of ecosystems to do this, too”, Lisa shared. She wishes that more people would go eco-friendly because after all, this planet is entrusted to our care so it is our responsibility to take good care of it.

This eco-home we visited is just one of the many projects under Matter of Trust. This non-profit organization aims to harmonize with the Earth by raising awareness, initiating eco-friendly projects and encouraging more people to participate in this cause.

Planet Earth is our home and it isn’t too late to take a step and make a change to save the planet. If you wish to take part in any of their projects or help in any way, you can reach Matter of Trust through their website, matteroftrust.org.
