Disneyland, the first theme park of its kind, opened its doors in July 1955. On its opening day, almost 70 years ago, over 28,000 visitors waited in line to get inside.
+
Dave MacPherson, who was a college student at that time, became the first paying guest by arriving early on opening day. In fact, he was there at 2 o’clock in the morning so he would enter the park first.
+
As a reward, he received a lifetime pass to Disney Parks for being the first guest to ever enter. With his pass, he could take with him up to three guests at any time - also free of charge.
+
"At the beginning, it was just a paper or cardboard pass and for years it was silver. In recent years it has been red in color and is made like a credit card and says on the front “VIP MAIN ENTRANCE PASS.” The reverse side has my name and says: Admit Passholder and 3 Guests,” Dave commented.
+
Almost every year, Dave returned to the park with his wife, Wanda, along with their close friends Martha and Joe Ortiz.
+
“Each January I eagerly await the arrival of the next installment of the pass which is then good for another year at any Disney park, and I have received these annual passes since 1955.""
+
Dave kept returning annually until his final visit back in 2018.

Two seniors were nominated to be the queen at S&S High School in Sadler, TX - friends Trinity Arrington and Emily Petty.

Trinity was shocked when her name was announced. Determined to show her affection for Emily, a senior with special needs, who always wanted to be a princess, Trinity shared the title with her friend, giving her the crown.
